About Us.
My name is Nino Rocha, my partners Mike Lee and Christina Baioni
have been together for many years.
We have set our goals very high in our breeding program .
We look
for great
temperaments, structure, and integrity.
We believe that the past is our future, this means we try to emulate
the great
dogs of the past into our present breeding program
using
only the best bloodlines available.
Our
goals are like many other breeders who strive to breed the
best. We believe that our
35
years of experience give us an edge that is
needed to achieve these goals. We breed for the total dog. In order to
compete in the show and training ring, we believe that form and function
equals the type of dog needed.
We are
located in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are a code of ethics
breeder, and are committed to breeding the complete Bully and American
Staffordshire Terrier. I have been a trainer for over
35 years and
breeder for more than thirty years. I have always enjoyed the working
dogs
for Schutzhund and personal protection family guardian.
Over
the years, I have owned German Shepherds, Doberman Pinchers,
Rottweilers and American Staffordshire Terriers.
We still have Rottweilers which are shown in the German venue where your
dog must show its true character and structure. This is where form and
function is truly seen.
I have
trained with the likes of Sgt Art O'Keeffe,
who
was in charge of the
San Francisco Police Department K-9 unit, and Mr. Tom Turner of the
Oakland Police Department K-9 unit.
I was the training director for the East bay
Rottweiler Club for
5
years.
Mike and I have been private trainers for the last fifteen years together
in obedience and personal protection.
Twelve
to fifteen years ago Mike and I acquired our first American
Staffordshire Terrier with the help and guidance
of Ms. Gigi Rooney and Ms. Karen Alvarez. We believed that with their
help we had a very strong foundation.
We left the American Staffordshire Terrier breed
9-10 years ago. There
were some very good breeders and also unethical breeders. We did not want
to belong to this type of organization so we decided to leave. We sold
our dogs to great homes where they would be loved and shown. Well, we
are
back to have fun and show our dogs and try very hard to provide some
wonderful puppies for the show ring and the training field, only with the
true American Staffordshire Terrier can this be done. We feel through the
collaboration of Legends Kennels (owner Mr. Ed Garcia) and Von Sentinel
Kennels that we can bring alot of experience to the table to help
show
there is other ways to show our Bullies in a more professional manner. We
also realize that there are many breeders and dog handler that know much
more than us, we just want to help those who might not understand
show
etiquette. Through education we can help improve the negative image of
this most wonderful breed. All this starts with the breeders.
