Many years ago when Mike and I started our American Staffordshire Kennel we planned a breeding program that we felt would be second to none. In our search for the perfect American Staffordshire Terrier, we realized that this was not going to be an easy task. Setting our goals so high was a problem, we were unable to find dogs that would meet our expectation. We found many nice looking dogs, but nice looking does not mean a quality dog. We were looking for the total dog: correct structure, correct bite, good pigmentation, good hips, good elbows and most importantly a great temperament. I'm sure there were some of these dogs closer to us, but we could not find them. In our search we were introduced to Ms. Gigi Rooney of Rowdytown Kennels and Ms. Jodie Petiach of Sunbolt Kennels. These ladies followed and breed the Ruffian blood lines and have produce many great American Staffordshire terriers, too many to mention. Then we found Ms. Karen Alverez of Alverez Kennels and to our pleasant surprise her dogs met our criteria's. The rest is history.

As you might have read at the beginning of the website

well here is a great example of that, many years ago we did a breeding with Sire Ch Canam Rowdytown Bold Grafx and Ch Pacific Rythm N Blue, which produced some very wonderful puppies. The puppies went to show homes and the training field for obedience. One of these puppies is named Pongo Von Sentinel. She produced six champions for Ms. Dayna Persenti. We would like to congratulate Ms. Dayna Persenti of Castle Rock kennels <castlerockamstaffs.com> for all of her continual success with her dogs. This goes right back to how we think a great female is the most essential factor in any breeding program.
